Vote At Home Presentation and Discussion
Voters Receive Ballots by Mail
Vote at Home is growing across the US as a way to vote, giving registered voters the convenience of automatically receiving ballots by mail. Currently, three states (OR, WA, and CO) vote entirely this way and several other states use mailed ballots in many of their jurisdictions. The Illinois legislature has at least one bill that would enable voters to opt in to receive a mailed ballot on a permanent basis.
Lee Greenhouse is a local advocate with the National Vote at Home Institute (NVAHI), which promotes best practices in the adoption of mailed ballots. Lee will discuss the various forms that vote at home takes, benefits of this approach, how it is being adopted by states across the US, best practices in ensuring that a vote at home system is secure, and what steps local advocates can take to promote it in Illinois. He looks forward to answering your questions.
The security of our voting systems is a very real concern. Come to this free presentation to learn how voting from home using paper ballots can address many of your concerns.
