SHOULD YOU RUN? I DID AND HERE’S WHY.
Interview with Lauren Kaeseberg, District 61 School Board.
What made you decide to run for office?
Raising children in today’s world has new challenges as well as new opportunities, from school security issues to equity to environmental issues to technology. I wanted to bring my voice as a parent of 2 young children to the school board which I believe has an under representation of parent voices.

Why did you decide to run now?
There is never a perfect time to do something like this, so why wait!

What was difficult and how did you overcome the difficulty; what kind of help did you get?
It was really time-consuming running for office! I felt supported by my community and my family which made a big difference.

What was/is most satisfying?
It is very rewarding when a parent tells me they are glad I’m on the board and that they know I’m fighting for all of our kids. Every single student in our district is deserving of a top-notch and quality education in an environment that supports them (socially, emotionally and also their physical health). It makes me proud to know that I’m doing my part, in my little corner of the world, to help our students thrive.
