DOWNERS GROVE TOWNSHIP DEMOCRATS LOVE A PARADE!

DOWNERS GROVE TOWNSHIP DEMOCRATS LOVE A PARADE!
By Chris Hotchkin

Downers Grove Township Democrats will participate in two parades on July 4.

In the morning of July 4 we will be in the Darien Lions Club Parade. This parade lines up on the north side of the Jewel parking lot on 75th Street and Cass Ave. Our car should be there at 8:30, but marchers can plan to join us about 9:00. The parade steps off at 9:30. You can park either on the southern side of the Jewel lot, or you can park near Hinsdale South High School where the parade ends.

In the afternoon we will be in the Downers Grove Independence Day Parade. This parade lines up in the Downers Grove North High parking lot on Main and Grant Streets. You can park on the street near this area. This parade ends at Warren Avenue, so you could also park near the end. We will line up about 12:30 and the parade steps off at 1:00.

For both parades, please wear a Downers Grove Township Democrats shirt or a shirt for your favorite Democratic candidate, or just something red, white, and blue.

We need vehicles for these parades. If you have an American-made pickup truck, convertible, or sports car we could use for either Darien or Downers Grove or both, please contact Chris Hotchkin at CHotchkin@sbcglobal.net. If you are driving your vehicle, you get to be in an air-conditioned car during the parade!
